My son loves animals, but my husband was hesitant to adopt him a cat. Will he help care for it? Will it get along with our dogs?

The day before our son's 10th birthday, Pets Alive had an adoption drive at HEB where my husband works and his heart melted when he spied a tiny gray kitten. He couldn't resist and signed the adoption papers. My husband surprised our son by hiding it in a used shipping box he found discarded in the hallway at HEB. When our son opened it, he melted into tears and held the kitten in his arms. When we asked him what he wanted to name her, without missing a beat he said "Tricia".

Tricia? Um. OK. Sure.

Now, Tricia is family. Tricia is home. Sweet Tricia, named for the stranger whose name was on the address label on the side of the box.
