Kia is a beautiful purebred cinnamon Chow we found on a chow rescue site and brought from her litter near Binghamton NY to join our family in 2003. So she just turned 13 years young! This photo was taken earlier this year at our vet's. She has been the leader of our chow/chow mix rescue dog pack since 2006 when we lost our Bear. Our pack under Kia's reign has also included Mishka, Brutus, Toby (a pit rescue) Coco (a chow foster) and Teddy. Kia loves her family and guards us all well- especially my 2 daughters who were in elementary school when we got her and are in college now. We call Kia "L'il' (because she's small for a chow) and "the cuteness"- for obvious reasons. She hates having her photo taken though! Her owner volunteers for CCRCNY, and conducted 2 home visits in 2016.
