As you can see by the picture on the left Fortis was in bad shape when he was rescued from an abusive and neglectful situation. It took a year to get him physically healthy - 2 obstruction surgeries, dental work for broken teeth, steroids for inflammation and skin issues from malnourishment - before he was able to show us his loyal and resilient personality (right picture). He has taught us so much about love, compassion, and patience but also what a second chance can do for a dog, and a family. Sadly so many dogs don’t get the chance he did. But by supporting SGA more dogs get to experience the love and safety that Fortis now experiences.
