BioBug’s story began with heartbreak, but it quickly turned into one of love, loyalty, and a little bit of bulldog sass.
Rescued at just one year old, Bug arrived at Southern California Bulldog Rescue (SDBR) underweight, full of worms, and emotionally shut down. He had been kept in a crate for most of his early life—hidden away in an apartment where dogs weren’t even allowed. He had no socialization, no playtime, no sunshine. Just a tiny, misunderstood bulldog with a big heart waiting to be seen.
And then he found his person.
Bug is what his mum lovingly calls her “heart dog.” Fiercely devoted and hilariously attached, he’s a Velcro pup through and through—glued to her side from sun-up to sundown. He’s made it clear that his love is selective (dad, sorry—but you’re second string), and honestly, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
At just 28 pounds, Bug may be small, but he’s full of personality. He’s got a daily schedule packed with sunbathing, lap sitting, and enthusiastic play sessions with his best friend and sister, Emmie the Frenchie. The two are inseparable and always up to something mischievous or charming—usually both.
Thanks to the care and compassion of SDBR, Bug now lives the life all bulldogs deserve: spoiled, adored, and treated like royalty. His days of confinement are long gone, replaced by warmth, freedom, and the unwavering bond with the person who gave him a second chance.
Bug’s story is a reminder of how rescue changes everything—not just for the dog, but for the human lucky enough to be chosen by a bulldog with a heart bigger than his body.
