HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOGRAPHS
The minimum donation for submitting a photo to be included in San Diego House Rabbit Society 2016 Shelter Bunnies Calendar is $10.00 per photo. You may submit as many photographs as you like.
Online: To submit photos online, click on the Participate tab above and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet. Online entries must be received by September 30, 2015, 11:59:59 PM PST.
By mail: Mailed photos should be sent to: San Diego House Rabbit Society, Attn. Photo Fundraiser, 4807 Mercury Street, Ste. A, San Diego, CA 92111. Mailed entries must be received by September 30, 2015, 7:00 PM PST.
Hand delivery: Photo entries delivered in person should be brought to San Diego House Rabbit Society, 4807 Mercury Street, Ste. A, San Diego, CA 92111 during regular business hours. Hand delivered entries must be received by September 30, 2015, 7:00 PM PST.
Donations are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. San Diego House Rabbit Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All entrants will receive receipts for their contributions.
All photos become the property of San Diego House Rabbit Society.
ELIGIBLE PHOTOGRAPHS
- Acceptable photo formats are .jpg, .bmp, .png, and .tif
- Photos sent by mail must be no larger than 11”x14”
- Photos may contain one or more rabbits
- Photos must:
- be in color or black and white
- contain only pets (no people)
- be horizontal (landscape) format
- Any image that includes people, or content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the staff of San Diego House Rabbit Society, will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser.
- Photographs may not be edited or altered (other than minor color, contrast, or sharpness adjustments)
- Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet’s owner to submit their pet’s image.
CALENDAR PHOTO SELECTIONS
San Diego House Rabbit Society's judging committee will give consideration to all submissions for various prominent locations throughout the calendar: One photo will be selected as a full-month page and two will be featured as inset squares for each month.
Participant selected as the full-page month winner will be notified and asked to provide a high resolution version of their photo, as well as a short biography of their pet, via email.
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES
Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery on San Diego House Rabbit Society's website, and be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each, with a minimum $5 donation for five votes.
All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online.
To vote online, click on the Participate tab above. The online voting period will end September 30, 2015, 11:59:59 PM PST. Donate a minimum of $5 for five votes. Those votes can then be cast for any submitted photo in one-vote increments. Voters do not have to use all of the votes at the time of donation. When voters donate, they will be given the option of applying all of the votes to one photo, spreading their votes over various photos, or storing votes in their account. If a voter chooses to store the votes, voter can log in to their account using their ID and password and vote at a later time. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
Voting by mail is accepted. Votes by mail and phone must be received by San Diego House Rabbit Society no later than September 30, 2015, 7:00 PM PST. Mail-in votes should be sent to: San Diego House Rabbit Society, Attn. Photo Fundraiser, 4807 Mercury Street, Ste. A, San Diego, CA 92111. Envelopes must include your phone number, donation by check, the pet and entrant names, and your written request to apply your enclosed donation towards votes for them in the 2016 Photo Fundraiser.
Voting by phone is accepted. Please call 858-565-2869 during regular office hours to vote by phone with a credit card. Votes by phone must be received by San Diego House Rabbit Society no later than September 30, 2015, 7:00 PM PST.
Ending time for the Photo Fundraiser will be determined by the host website’s server, which will show prominently on the Photo Fundraiser website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
The photograph with the most votes (donations) at the end of the submission period will win the voting portion of the Photo Fundraiser.
All votes are donations to San Diego House Rabbit Society and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. All donors will receive receipts for their contributions.
PRIZES FOR TOP VOTES
The top three participants to receive the most votes when the voting period ends will be contacted by San Diego House Rabbit Society to claim the following prizes:
1st Place: Your beloved bunny(ies) photo be featured as one of the calendar pages of San Diego House Rabbit Society's 2016 calendar*.
2nd Place: You pet's photo submission will be featured as an inset on one of the calendar months.**
3rd Place: You pet's photo submission will be featured as an inset on one of the calendar months.**
Prizes are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
*A new color portrait will be taken of one domestic pet by a professional photographer chosen by San Diego House Rabbit Society. The photograph will be taken at our San Diego Shelter prior to November 2015. The featured pet must be a rabbit. It is this photograph that will become the calendar month page. If this requirement cannot be met, an alternative prize will be substituted. San Diego House Rabbit Society will determine the month which features this pet.
