Pet's Story
My husband and I were introduced to the whole new world of bunnies when we found Bobbie in our neighborhood while walking our dog in 2009. She was sitting on the front lawn of someone's house eating grass. We said, "Uh that obviously isn't a wild bunny." We asked around and nobody claimed her. She was a matted mess, (Angora) so we called Pet Emergency & Specialty Center where we took our dog. Dr Cecil had to shave her, but other than that she was healthy. He said she was about 6 months to one year old. They referred me to SDHRS, which is how we learned to take care of a bunny. She's about 9 yrs old now and has been Queen Bee of the house ever since. She is very generous though, as she doesn't mind having foster siblings in "her" house.
