Pet's Story
Hippity (no spot on nose) was running in the alley near where I live with several other rabbits in 2016. Word was out that someone let the bunnies out after a neighbor complained about the number that had multiplied.
Hippity appeared to have a mate ......to me.... and then 2 kits appeared in our vacant lot. Having a dog, I was hesitant to capture a rabbit.
I finally rescued Hippity and one of his babies that my son named Snowball. Rumor had it that the other bunnies had not survived living on their own in the neighborhood. I was so sad . The rescues that I called could not help me as they were too full at that time.
So I decided to rescue the rabbit and one of his babies myself! With the help, advise and support from the SD House Rabbit Society staff, the 2 rabbits have been healthy and happy for going on 3 years now! As in the photo, they watch and observe my family constantly!
I couldn't have kept these two rabbits giving them a good life without SDHRS . Thank you!
These 2 rabbits brighten my day and have given me smiles when I have most needed it. I have truly learned what interesting creatures that rabbits are and how important that they can be to one's life....like mine!
