How Much Is The Entry Fee?
The entry fee is $25 per photo. This fee includes one copy of the 2020 wall calendar that will be mailed to you in the fall of 2019. You can make an additional donation during the entry process that will count as votes* toward your submitted picture(s). All proceeds from contest entries and votes will go directly to support San Diego Humane Society's vital programs and services.

*A minimum of 5 votes is required for guaranteed inclusion in the 2020 Wall Calendar calendar collage pages

How Do I Enter The Contest?
How to enter online:
Click on the Participate tab above and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet. Online entries must be received by Aug 31, 2019, 11:59:59 p.m. PDT.

How to enter by mail:
If you're mailing in your photo, we accept 4" x 6" prints in a horizontal format for design purposes. Mailed photos should be sent to the address below. Please include an entry form with your photo. Entry forms can be downloaded from our website at sdhumane.org. Votes by mail must be received by San Diego Humane Society no later than Aug 31, 2019, 6 p.m. PDT.

How Do I Vote For A Pet's Picture?
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 for five votes. All votes are tax-deductible. Yes, you can vote for your own pet's photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want)! You may allocate each vote to the same picture or multiple pictures.

How to vote online:
To vote online, click on the Participate tab above. Search the name of the pet you want to vote for and click on the pet's photo. You will then be taken to the pet's page where you can cast your vote! Donate a minimum of $5 for five votes. Those votes can then be cast for any submitted photo in one-vote increments. The online voting period will end on Aug 31, 2019, 11:59:59 p.m. PDT.

  • Voters do not have to use all of their votes at the time of donation. When voters donate, they will be given the option of applying all of the votes to one photo, spreading their votes over various photos, or storing votes in their account. If a voter chooses to store their votes, the voter can log in to their account using their ID and password and vote at a later time. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted and votes cannot be applied to future contests.
How to vote by mail:
Make your check payable to San Diego Humane Society. Mail-in votes must include your name, address, phone number, donation by check, and the names of the pet and entrant you are voting for. Votes by phone must be received by San Diego Humane Society no later than Aug 31, 2019, 6 p.m. PDT.

  • Votes sent by mail will be added to the photo contest website within two business days of receipt.
How to vote by phone:
Please call (619) 299-7012 ext 2279 during regular office hours to vote by phone with a credit card. Votes by phone must be received by San Diego Humane Society no later than Aug 31, 2019, 6 p.m. PDT.


When Will I Get My Calendar?
Calendars will be mailed in the fall of 2019.
