Pet's Story
Rusty had been mistreated prior to being turned in to the Escondido Humane Society. He was so frightened he wouldn't eat. I took him home as a foster for two weeks while he waited for dental work because he wasn't doing well at the shelter. He was afraid of everything when I brought him home. The ice-maker made him run out the dog door and hide in the backyard. But at 73 lbs, he was so sweet to my 7 and 13 lb rescue Maltese I pretty quickly knew I would adopt him. He thinks he's Maltese, too, and follows the other two around. He finally let me scratch his belly a month ago. And now he really wants to play in his golden years, you can see as he drops into a play bow position in my kitchen. Love the guy.
