Pet's Story
After 6 months of searching, I was approved to adopt a dog at a mobile adoption event. I took too long to make a decision and the dog was adopted to someone else. I was heartbroken. An adoption counselor offered for me to see another dog, Castle, a skinny 5 year old dog who was previously heartworm-positive and had major surgery to correct a heart murmur. Nobody else wanted this dog. I took Castle out and picked him up. He immediately went belly up limp in my arms and closed his eyes to nap. I guess he chose me!
At first, Castle (now Baymax) didn't know a single command. We've made up our own way to communicate with each other. He was also quick to trust me right away -- allowing me to brush his teeth and trim his nails. We became inseparable best buds. We crossed the country together. We've been there for each other's worst of times and best of times. He is like my shadow around our home and anywhere else I go. He's also such a goofy guy and gives the best nose boops. Words cannot adequately describe how grateful I am that he chose me.
