Pet's Story
Cassius is still a pretty young kitty, but he's lived a lot in his first year of life. He was born with several differences that required a lot of special care, including a heart wall defect and partial back leg. Before Cassius came to us, he was loved by his foster family as a long-term resident at SD Humane. In addition to the care and support he received from SD Humane, he also received life-saving care from a special donor who funded his heart wall repair surgery. So much love and so many people to thank for this truly exceptional kitty! After surgery and several medical procedures, we adopted our special "tripod" baby.

Since coming to his forever home, he has found true brotherhood with our other adopted kitten, Chef, and the two are inseparable. While we are still on a medical journey with Cassius to keep his full limbs strong, he is flourishing as he grows into adulthood. He talks to everyone all the time, chattering and chirping to us and his brothers. I think he's saying how happy he is. :)
