Pet's Story
Shaka came to the shelter in the summer of 2021, having lived in four different homes that we knew of by the time she was 9. Shaka was adopted and returned two more times over the next few months. She was a senior pittie who was blind in one eye and had chronic skin allergies and anxiety - a tall order for many adopters. But when you looked deeper, you saw the sweet, silly, sassy, stubborn girl who was so deserving of a home and someone who would let her know she mattered. Shaka came to our house as a foster but never left. Shaka was a true shelter success - she had been bounced around multiple times and her skin issues had been left untreated, but we were able to rewrite her story to one of love, comfort, joy, adventure, adoration, security and all the treats her heart desired.
