Nala, rescued from the meat trade in China, is afraid of the dark and licks everyone she meets.

Pet's Story
Nala was rescued in Shanghai, China, narrowly escaping the Yulin dog meat “festival” (which is still legal). Thanks to a passionate local woman who runs a rescue, adopting the dogs to families in the US, Nala was given a second chance.

She is the friendliest dog who loves all humans and most dogs, greeting them with pure joy and excitement as if she’s known them her whole life.

Nala adopted us as her family in 2019, right after she turned 1. She still struggles with some deep fears of the dark and flashlights, no doubt from her days shivering in fear in the bushes, escaping being captured, but she is filled with joy and kindness, always. Our rescue kitty, Newton thinks Nala is his mama ❤️
