Pet's Story
Moreno, a Weimaraner Lab Shepherd mix, was found abandoned on a highway with his mom and 4 other siblings. His mom was used for breeding but discarded because the pups weren’t purebred. As the last to be adopted, Moreno instantly connected with us due to our shared love of lounging and watching TV instead of walking. He's terrified of roads with vehicles but adores watching dog movies at home.
Blanca, a Great Pyrenees mix, was found on the street by SD Humane Law officers after being abandoned. Fearful of both humans and other dogs, she tried to escape from her shelter by jumping over an 8-foot fence. When we went there to meet her, the SD Humane Society staff honestly told us about her big escape. Blanca’s adorable personality and SD Humane Society’s candor gave us a lot of faith that she needed a home. Upon meeting Blanca for the first time, she hugged my wife, revealing that she knew we were family and meant to be together. We welcomed her in, and to our surprise Moreno and Blanca instantly formed a deep bond. They are inseparable now, always together and doing everything in tandem.
