Pet's Story
Suzy is a long haired Himalayan and Zury, her faithful companion is a short haired Tabby. Both are 6 years old. Suzy’s mother was a pregnant feral who was taken in by a fellow cat lover to protect her babies. Although Suzy was born in a safe environment with human contact she picked up on her mother’s fear and is very feral. I met her at the vet’s office when she was getting her shots and immediately fell in love with her. I knew that if I was going to adopt a kitten I needed to adopt a second kitten as a companion. So I adopted Zury from the San Diego Humane Society. Suzy is very timid – afraid of everything and everybody. Zury is the exact opposite – a real fireball who is afraid of nothing. They have totally bonded and make an awesome pair. It took a lot of patience to win Suzy over and it really paid off. Suzy has bonded with me. I am the only one who can touch her. She sleeps next to me at night and when I walk into a room she wraps around my legs till I sit down so she can get in my lap. Zury loves attention and is all over me every chance she gets. Suzy doesn’t like to be left alone so anytime I am gone Zury stays right with her to make sure she feels safe. When I come home they are always right there together. They are the light of my life.
