Purple and her 6 Hends (Hen-Friends) were adopted after their most productive laying years had passed. These Barred Rock and Speckled Sussex gals live a pretty sweet retirement life- scratching and pecking in the garden, eating grubs, and sharing in their people’s leftovers. “The Ladies” are very social and come running when their people enter the yard. Each has a unique personality. Purple is the favorite chicken because she is brave, friendly, and super smart. If you ever wanted a velociraptor for a pet, chickens are pretty close (and much safer) replica. Adopting hens (or even better- a group of roosters!) is a great way to get an easy pet while saving some lives.
