I found Katrina when I volunteered in New Orleans in 2005. She was scrounging for a living amid the detritus of the hurricane she was named after. Katrina sat in her donated crate, flew to Flagstaff on the generous graces of multiple airline employees, and settled in to her new life without batting an eye. Although she remained fearful of thunderstorms and rain, she lived her life with absolute grace and courage. Katrina died on June 2, 2016. Happy trails my sweet kitty.
