Pet's Seen=Saved Story
Jackie was born on the flooded streets of New Orleans a few months after Hurricane Katrina. Along with his two siblings and his mother, they lived under an abandoned house for almost a year until Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) pulled them off of the street and into the safety of their shelter. I visited ARNO and met Jackie in 2007. This was the first time I had ever visited an animal shelter to photograph animals. I photographed Jackie and his brother Jesse and when I went back home, I knew I had to start photographing animals for my local shelter. I also knew we had to adopt Jackie. We did and a year later, we adopted his brother Jesse. Sadly Jesse passed away four years ago from cancer but Jackie is still with us and is almost 14 years old. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and my true inspiration and muse for photographing shelter animals.
