Buddy is a Maine Coon that never knew comfort or love before he came to me. He is a loud and vocal Coonie. His former "people" did not understand this and had him 4-paw declawed to "settle him down". This of course did not work so they threw him outdoors to fend for himself, with no claws. The worst was he became deaf due to neglect. So this cat was outdoors in the heat and cold of 2 Chicago years, with no one to love or care about him. Children teased him and abused him and he never heard them coming, due to the deafness, nor did he hear the attack dogs after him, also. A kind man who was sick and homebound observed this poor cat's circumstances and connected with me - the rest was history. I know little of what happened to Buddy before those 2 years. But what matters is now he has vet care for his orthopedic issues due to declawing his huge Coonie paws, he has noms and fresh water which he loves to play in and drink. He is just learning about blankies and the comfort and good sleep they provide.
