A little about me...
Pistol was only 6 weeks old when he was found as a stray in Weed. On 4/14/2006 his finder turned him into Siskiyou Humane Society. The plan was to foster Pistol until he was neutered and adopt him out. He was the cutest pup, but something wasn't right in Pistol's brain even with proper socialization and puppy classes. One day, out of the blue he snapped, went off like a bullet from a gun. A kid ran up as I was holding him, scared him really bad, the fear of strangers worsened in a very short time. He was not adoptable and needed constant management. At 6 months he had a few bites on his record. Any other shelter at that time would have euthanized him. I couldn't do that, I adopted him. Pistol has taught me so much, one day in my office he found a bucket of balls , he would pick one up and drop it watching it bounce, one after another I took him outside threw the ball and he brought it right back to me.
15 years later he still fetches the ball like he's 8 months old. He taught me how to manage a fear aggressive dog and all that goes with it (not an easy task) He shows me everyday what unconditional love is. He taught me not to breed label dogs by what they look like, his DNA came back 50/50 -50% Border Collie and 50% Red Bone Coon Hound. Pistol=LOVE
