Rules

• To enter the contest please click on the Participate tab above.
• The contest will be from October 30, 2018, 9:00am through November 30, 2018 5pm. Entries can be submitted at any time during this period.
• It is $15 to submit an entry. Multiple entries may be submitted, but it will be $15 for each one. Each photo is an individual entry and will receive its' own votes.
• The contest is open to pets of all species, but they must be a rescued pet. No pets purchased from breeders or pet stores.
• The entry must be submitted by the pet's owner or the entrant must have the owner's permission.
• Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate will be eliminated. If your photo is grainy or low quality, you will be contacted about entering a different photo.
• Once a photo has been uploaded, it becomes the property of SMAR and can be used for printing and marketing purposes.

All photos must

• Contain pet(s) only; no people.
• Be in Color
• Have the pet's name, owner's name, and city and state.
• Be uploaded online; no hard copies accepted.
• Be in landscape (horizontal form)
• Be in JPEG or PNG format.
• Have no special effects or editing of the photo except to enhance it.
• Should be of highest resolution, best quality, at least 11"x8"and 300 dpi minimum.
• Cannot have a copyright or be a professional photo.

You can also remember or honor your pet by reserving a special day block on the calendar for only $15. Since the squares are so small the photos for the reserved calendar day block should have only one pet because we want your furbaby to shine.

• To vote click on the Participate tab above.
• Votes are $1 each with a minimum of 5 votes ($5). There is no limit to the number of votes you can cast.
• Votes can all be applied to one entry or several entries.
• Votes can be used all at once, or stored in your vote bank for easy voting later.
• All votes must be submitted by November 30, 2018, 5:00pm to be counted.  
• Entrants are welcome to vote on their own photo.
• Online voting begins as soon as a photo is registered and ends at November 30, 2018, 5:00pm.
• All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
• All donations to the contest are final.

• The entry with the most votes will be put on the cover of the calendar, receive 2 free calendars, and an additional prize.
• The entries with the 2^nd and 3^rd most votes will receive a place as pet of the month, a free calendar, and an additional prize.
• The entries with the 4^th - 12^th most votes will receive a place as pet of the month and a free calendar.
• The entry chosen for the Judge's Choice - Best Pitbull Photo will receive a place as pet of the month, a free calendar and a Pittie inspired prize.
• All entries will be included in our 2019 "CELEBRATING OUR RESCUE PETS" Calendar either on the collage page or as insets within the calendar.
• Contest winners will be notified by email or phone call.
• All proceeds from the Calendar Contest and Calendar Sales will support So MD Animal Rescue's dogs and cats in need of homes.
