Open to ALL (costumed pets can be included with costumed human(s) but not as stand-alone entries)
Family-friendly event – Keep it Fun! SMCR reserves the right to remove any photos that we deem inappropriate or in bad taste
Please remember that this contest is taking place for community FUN and as a FUND and FRIENDraiser for Southern Maryland Community Resources, Inc. (SMCR), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the inclusion of persons with developmental differences into the life of our community. Please help to promote the contest (social media, email, phone calls) by encouraging friends and family to enter and to vote! Thank you for your support.
Entering the Contest

There is no cost required to participate. Upon uploading your photo, you will have the opportunity to cast the first votes for that photo at $1 per vote.
If you submit a photo with more than one person in it, those costumes must belong together in some way (ie. Batman and Robin) and will be considered as a whole. Otherwise each costumed person must be submitted in an individual photo.
Photos entered in last year's contest will not be accepted.

CATEGORIES:

People's Choice: Upon entering your photo, please designate into which People's Choice category you are entering it. Each photo may only be entered into ONE People's Choice category.

Most Creative
Creepiest
Best Resemblance (comes closest to representing a book/movie/tv or other character(s))

Judges' Choice: ALL entries in the People's Choice categories will also be considered in a "Best Overall" competition in which the winner will be determined by Judges' Choice rather than votes received.

JUDGING:

People's Choice

These categories receive votes by payment: $1 = 1 vote. Encourage family and friends to vote. Again, please remember that monies received go to support programs for community members with developmental differences. SMCR appreciates your support.
One Winner and a Runner Up will be determined per category
Decisions based on votes received are final

Judges' Choice

This is the "Best Overall" prize that will be determined by our panel of judges.
All photos received in the "People's Choice" categories will compete for this cherished cash prize and one Runner Up will also receive a prize.
The Judges' decisions are final.

Contest Period – 12:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Monday, October 4, 2021 until 7:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, October 29, 2021.
The winners and runners up of the "People's Choice" categories will be determined in real time and announced on or about 7 pm on Friday, October 29, 2021 during a Zoom event and on Facebook Live. Names and winning photos will be posted to SMCR website and social media sites. The winners and runners up of the "Judges' Choice" category will be determined and announced (names and photos) on the SMCR website and social media sites by November 2, 2021-. All Prize Winners will be contacted by the email address listed in his/her entry on or before November 6th. If a prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to a potential winner, or if a potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules, then such person shall be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected for the prize at issue.
DISCLAIMER: By submitting photos into this contest, you grant to Southern Maryland Community Resources, Inc. (SMCR), its legal representatives, assigns and photographers, acting with the authority of SMCR, the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish said photographs, for editorial, trade, advertising, and any other purpose and in any manner and medium; and to alter and composite the same without restriction and without your inspection or approval. You hereby release SMCR and its legal representatives and assigns from all claims and liability relating to submitted photographs.
