When people think of Trimeresurus, they typically picture pristine tropical forests and harsh karst outcrops. However, in the heart of Bangkok, Trimeresurus macrops thrives in trash dumps, sewage ponds, along canal shores, and even in roadside hedges. This specimen was observed along a busy roadway where taxi drivers wait to pick up patrons from popular clubs, who's music could distantly be heard while photographing this viper.
