Please tell us how your pet joined the family?
Jake was in training to be a service animal for a young boy with Down Syndrome. Jake was doing great with his training but he turned out to be too friendly. Jake has never met a stranger and he stopped to greet everyone that walked past him. He just couldn’t help himself so his big heart earned him an early retirement at 11 months old. Lucky for us we were able to adopt him and he’s been keeping us entertained ever since!

We’ve been lucky enough to be a foster family for our local shelter for several years. For the past two years Jake has been an integral part of that. Since we’ve adopted him his sweet disposition has helped us to socialize our fosters. He has helped countless orphaned kittens learn to love big goofy dogs. As a result, the kittens learn to be comfortable around dogs which helps them get adopted. He has also helped some of the larger dogs that we’ve taken in due to injury or illness. The amazing vet staff at our shelter works hard to help them heal physically, we try to give them the love and care they need through the healing process and Jake’s nature helps them to heal emotionally. It’s a team effort and were so lucky that he found us. He’s made a huge difference in our lives. We love him.
