We rescued Caesar (at that time his name was Raider @ 5mo old) from ending up in a shelter. We found out about him through my husbands work. The guy who had him was in a bad living situation and was the 4th puppy had had bought and gotten rid of because he felt Caesar wouldn't be "big enough" when he grew up. Caesar was being kept in a van all day while the guy worked or was left alone and unattended to because no one was around to care for him.
My husband convinced the man to give him to us because I had been doing a lot of research on the breed and had wanted to adopt anyways. It was meant to be. I started to say names in our way home and he named himself Caesar out of all the names that's what he responded to.
He had a parasite and underdeveloped stomach when we got him so it took about a year to get him healthy.
He was an only "child" for 3 yrs before he became a loving, protective, goofy big brother to our son. He has the personality of an outspoken old man. He has no problem pointing out when things have been moved, or speaking his mind while he wiggles his way closer and closer into your lap.
He is our Caesar-peezer, pumpkin cheeser as our song (we've sang him since he was a puppy) goes.
He is our squishy-face, our love bug, and no one who enters our home leaves without falling in love with him.
