A little about my entry...
Morning fog moved slowly through the redwoods at Monte Rio Redwoods Regional Park and Open Space Preserve, softening the tall trunks and revealing shafts of sunlight as the day began. For a few minutes, the forest floor brightened where the light broke through the canopy, illuminating young trees, ferns, and the uneven ground between the larger trunks.

Moments like this are brief. As the sun rises higher, the fog thins and the light becomes less dramatic. But in the early hours, the redwoods can feel almost architectural, their straight trunks framing the light like pillars in a vast natural hall.

Standing quietly along the trail, watching the beams shift as the fog drifted past, it was easy to understand why so many visitors return to these forests again and again.
