A little about my entry...
One of my moms coworkers told her about a pond near Spring Lake that supposedly had a ton of Newts. When my dad and I asked her which pond it was we became skeptical after she told us. This was because we have always called it "Frog Pond" since there was always frogs croaking whenever we passed by it. We went up to the pond about an hour later and on that rainy Saturday morning I have never been more astonished. The amount of newts swimming around, fighting for mates, and eggs that were laid was a site to behold. We read the sign the parks had put up, informing us that this was a yearly occurrence for these local California Newts, and in all the years we've been coming to the park and passed that pond we had never seen the likes of it before.
