It is $5.00USD to submit one (1) photo.
Any pet can enter the contest but only dogs are eligible to ride parade float if chosen as winners due to safety concerns for the pet.
To enter the contest you will submit a photo of your pet, provide their name, your name and address, and a short paragraph (250 words or less) that tells voters something fun or interesting about the pet(s) in the photo. Why should your pet be crowned King or Queen of the Southern Pines Krewe of Paws?
Voting is open to everyone. Votes are $1 each. Each dollar donated equals an equivalent number of votes that are placed in the donor’s “vote bank”. A $5.00 donation equals 5 votes, a $10 donation equals 10 votes, etc. A minimum donation of $5 is required. You then take the votes in your vote bank and use them to vote on one photo entry, or spread them across your favorite photos. This is a fun contest to help us raise much needed money for our shelter.
If you submit a photo to the contest, you can email links to your family and friends to encourage voting for your photo. On your pet's public page, there is a "share" button that allows you to share your entry through Facebook and other social networking sites. Ask all of your friends and family to vote for your favorite photo and share! Share! Share!
Photos may contain more than one pet, and family members are welcome in the photo as well

Southern Pines reserves the right to disqualify at any time any photo it determines to be unsuitable.
Contest votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt. Mailed paper receipts can be requested by emailing director@southernpinesanimalshelter.org.
Contest donations are processed by a secure (SSL, PCI-Compliant) payment processor. You can donate using all major credit cards and Visa and MasterCard debit cards.
Registration information shared by participants when creating an account to submit a photo entry will be kept strictly confidential by Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
The selection process will be determined by electronic tabulations under the supervision of Gogo Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding.
King/Queen will be determined by online voting; the most votes for “King” entries and the most votes for “Queen” entries will be crowned the winner.
All entries and photographs become the property of Southern Pines Animal Shelter to be used at their discretion for any and all purposes without compensation. By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted byanother individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Southern Pines Animal Shelter and the contest Sponsors and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
The Contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
