How did you come to adopt your rescue animal and how does your pet bring joy to your life?
Rukie (8, daschund/chihuahua mix) and I lost Bella about a year and a half ago. He had never been without her, and I was worried about him. We went to the Southside shelter, and right there was Cleo. She has come into our lives and she has made an incredible difference. She is full of life and humor and personality. She is exactly what we needed and she makes me laugh every single day. She and Rukie play and play and play - she steals his toys and he hides her bones. She cleans his ears and he snuggles her at night. When I cry, she licks my tears. Her favorite place is with her paws on my shoulders, looking out at the world. I am grateful every day for her, especially those moments when she and Rukie curl up next to each other by the fireplace.
