How did you come to adopt your rescue animal and how does your pet bring joy to your life?
We took my sister in law to IACS on free adoption day since her dog had past. She didn't find one she liked the staff said try Southside. We arrived her and my wife looked around. I was in the building where the medical cases stay. I looked in the back and seen these eyes just looking at me. I asked if I can see her they where thrilled to let me in. I learned she was a mess Platelet counts all messed up heart worm positive and she had just had puppies that where adopted. She was abused and just looked so sad but happy at the same time. After spending 5 mins with her me and the wife decided to adopt her. It wasn't easy with all her conditions, she stayed there for several weeks and we continued to visit her weekly. I finally ask to take her home and we would assume all the medical cost thru my vet. They agreed she came home and and several trips to the vet she finally had her platelet counts to normal and we had her spayed. She is so happy she always greets me with a smile and a wagging tail. She fits in well with our other 2 dogs . I have to say the love from a rescue dog is like nothing you can ever imagine. My sister in law also found her a new girl. I will rescue again the love is amazing.
