How did you come to adopt your rescue animal and how does your pet bring joy to your life?
We adopted our Luna from Southside Animal Shelter in September of 2017. My boyfriend and I had recently lost our first puppy to parvovirus. We saw Luna’s picture (formally Halle) on facebook saying she had survived parvo, and would be a big love bug. That caption was very right! Luna is not only a fighter, but a lover. She brings joy to our lives every day with her playfulness, goofiness, and endless snuggles.
She is a lap dog, and the cuddliest dog I’ve ever known. My boyfriend has always liked dogs, but had never had a relationship with a dog the way he has with Luna. He snuggles her, plays with her, and doesn’t mind her curling up with us in bed. He never imagined he would have such a strong connection with a dog. She is more than a pet, she is like our child. We love her dearly, and are so thankful to Southside Animal Shelter for rescuing our baby.
