How did you come to adopt your rescue animal and how does your pet bring joy to your life?
My daughter and I went to Southside Animal Shelter on Black Friday weekend looking for a small dog for my husband and for a playmate for our big dog. Savage was filthy and had been at the shelter only 24 hours. He weighed 4 pounds and was found wandering around on South Harding St. He was sick and pitiful. He just laid in our arms and gazed into our eyes and we just knew. I was so sad thinking about how he was so close to freezing to death out on the streets. He came home and has been smothered with love. He and Maddie are best friends. He now weighs in at 6.5 pounds and his bestie is 65 pounds! She is 10 times bigger then him and sooo gentle and loving. They are the best of friends and he is a wonderful member of our family. I don’t know what his life was like before he was living on the streets but I want to make sure he is the happiest doggie ever now!
