How did you come to adopt your rescue animal and how does your pet bring joy to your life?
on August 12 2017 we laid to rest our devoted 18 year old Chloe. I was 100% sure we would wait AT LEAST 6 months (or longer) before we adopted another dog. WRONG! Our little family decided the house was terribly lonely without doggie kisses. Fast forward to this adorable litter of pups the Southside Animal Shelter posted about on (roughly) September 21. We decided to "just go visit them" on September 23. Our lives were once again changed forever. We met our little Ellie (formerly Cayenne) and fell in LOVE. I cried and cried because she reminded me so much of our Chloe. I refused to let her go or put her back in the penned in area so my husband decided to go ahead and fill out an application because she was clearly the one for us. Ellie was adorable, curious, and PERFECT! Luckily, we were chosen to be Ellie's family and she has brought us SO MUCH JOY! Our home no longer feels empty. She's so full of life and energy and love. We are so blessed she's a part of our family and we can't imagine our lives without her!
