SWESR is dedicated to rescuing abandoned and neglected English Setters throughout the Southwest United States. We rehabilitate English Setters by providing full medical care and behavior assessments in a foster home in order to prepare them for adoption. To ensure all SWESR dogs are placed in loving, permanent homes, we screen and qualify adopters while providing ongoing guidance. SWESR promotes animal welfare through community education and outreach and values positive teamwork within our organization as well as partnership across rescues.
Established in 2012, Southwest English Setter Rescue (SWESR) is incorporated in Texas and a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
The majority of the dogs in our program are rescued after being abandoned or surrendered to shelters in the Southwestern USA. We also assist individuals who wish to give up their Setters for adoption. We welcome prospective adopters from the contiguous US.
We provide foster homes, veterinary care and rehabilitation when needed, and place our dogs with loving, forever families. Because our goal is to make the best possible placement for a dog, we work closely with prospective adopters to ensure a successful adoption in a well matched home. SWESR has rescued over 300 dogs since September 2012.
SWESR is wholly dependent on our adoption fees and private donations to meet our expenses. We need volunteers to support our efforts, especially foster homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and California. Please consider making a donation or volunteering for SWESR.
