Surprised my wife by taking a detour to Scranton, Pa. on the way to a Syracuse U. men's basketball game. Mackie was one from a liter of 10. Since we got her in Scranton we named her after a famous Syracuse basketball player from Scranton: Gerry McNamara (had another dog named after the coach: Boheim; our next dog is in trouble since this years SU men's basketball hero could be Paschal Chukwu - awful name for a dog). Selected her from the liter because she seemed very alert: when we spoke she tilted her head as if to attempt to understand. Just turned 3 and she's amazing. Smartest dog we've ever owned (she passed her real estate test the first try) and the only one we've ever had that will entertain herself. When we tire throwing her tennis ball and tell her "no more - go play" she will take the ball into a corner, smack it with her paw and catch it or chase it after it bounces off the wall. Hysterical to watch and never ceases to make me laugh. Loves every creature and is non-stop energy!
