Originally found abandoned in a yard,covered in ticks, suffering from heartworms, and doing her best to care for her new litter of puppies, Zordonia came to us as a little bit of a project. After fixing her and her puppies up, it wasn't long before all the puppies were adopted - still, Zordonia was left behind.

This gal has been through a lot, yet it seems she does prefer a more rugged lifestyle where she can use that powerful sniffer of hers and wander a little bit -- Zordonia loves adventure! Unfortunately, her sniffer can sometimes get her lost if she's wandering unsafely, so a secure privacy fence where she can "own" her kingdom is necessary. Zordonia is a little bit skittish sometimes and is currently working on her confidence as part of our Canine Training and Enrichment Program (CTEP). Each day, she risks a little more and each day she relaxes just a little more. We are also now getting good eye contact and kisses! It's quite a rewarding experience to earn her affections after all she's been through.

Zordonia's perfect match is a household with no very small children, no small mammals or cats (second dog possible and can be evaluated case by case), has a fenced yard, enjoys spending time discovering adventure, and understands the needs of a sensitive, loyal, and nose driven hound who has been through a lot. A secured rural setting would be ideal to kinda work your way into this pure heart!
