Your Pet's Story or BioBailey was surrendered to the SPCA of Brevard in pretty rough condition. She had quite a bit of hair loss, an ear infection, anemia, an enlarged liver, and a UTI. The wonderful SPCA vet started treatment immediately. Although most of her issues were cleared up, the vet determined Bailey was in liver failure and placed her in the hospice category.
A foster stepped up to take Bailey in temporarily, but in my heart, I knew she belonged with me and my pack in her forever home, so I made it official at the beginning of this year and she really has changed our lives for the better - and I hope we’ve changed hers.
Since joining the pack, Bailey has been on medication that has helped her liver disease. Her prognosis is better than ever and it seems like she’ll be with us longer than I could have hoped for, which is wonderful. She has also become an emotional support friend for one of my pups who has lymphoma and goes with us to Dixie’s chemo appointments each week. Bailey spends her days cuddled up with her sister pups, playing with her stuffies, hiking local trails, demanding treats and scrubbies, and going to work events to represent animal rescue and why it’s such an important resource in our community.
Why does your pet deserve to be crowned Purr-rom royalty?Bailey is already a queen in my book by showing her empathy, support, and love to her pack mates. These qualities would make her an excellent inaugural Purr-rom Queen. Plus, she would look extra cute in a crown.
