Pet's Story or Bio
Dude chose us almost 2 months ago. We went to the SPCA to look at another dog but that one was already taken. One of the volunteers suggested we take a look at Dude. The volunteer told us to come into the enclosure and sit, Dude has quite a story. As soon as I sat down, Dude jumped up on the bench, licked my cheek and then sat in my lap. My eyes instantly filled with tears. I knew Dude was "the one". Becky quickly filled us in on how Dude was surrendered as a puppy with a broken leg. He underwent 2 surgeries to repair he leg. He was in foster care while he recuperated. Dude struggled with shelter life and was then enrolled in the Ruff Start program. He spent 2 months in prison with inmates that were responsible for his training. They did an amazing job!

We brought Dude home and he immediately stole our hearts! He is so intelligent, playful and loving! We enjoy taking him hiking and he especially loves going to the beach.

We feel like our family is complete again. I love coming home to be greeted by Dude's smiling face!

We are continuing Dude's training and one day hope to have home certified as a therapy dog. He has a lot of love to give and I know he will do a great job bringing joy to others.

I am so grateful that the wonderful people at the SPCA never gave up on Dude! I don't know what we would do without him!
