Pet's Story or Bio
My wife and I are residents of San Antonio Texas but we have enjoyed owning a home here in Carmel by the Sea for many years. At first we were back and forth with dogs but over time and for many reasons our pet family became all feline. All of our cats love Carmel and they are now experienced travelers, making the journey many times. They spend their summer days here sunning on a deck overlooking the Pacific and enjoying life in coastal California.

Tut is a smallish Maine Coon cat who showed up in our yard in San Antonio Texas some eight years ago. At the time we had made the decision to get out of the pet business as our then current group of aged animals were nearing the end of their life-span. We’ll never know where Tut came from or how why he chose our yard from among the many in the neighborhood, but he literally jumped in my wife’s arms when we discovered him. At first we thought it was a pregnant female because the belly was so swollen, turns out the poor animal had been shot with a 22-caliber pellet and the wound had completely healed over. We decided to keep Tut and that started us down a far different road regarding pets than we had planned.

Tut is a true Maine Coon by personality and loves the adventure of the drive out from Texas. When we prepare for the trip out we can count on Tut self-installing himself in his carrier the night before, we believe to insure he’s not forgotten. He rides in my wife’s lap with a halter and leash and loves to watch the scenery go by, he is particularly fond of large trucks. When we hit Salinas he somehow knows we are approaching Carmel and puts his nose in the AC duct to confirm our position. He becomes very excited and always rewards us with a very dynamic tail wagging session until we arrive at the house!

No one loves Carmel more than Tut!
