Sophie, previously named Betsy, was surrendered with her brother at eight years old. Her brother was adopted immediately, but she had been at the SPCA for a month and was the oldest dog in the shelter. I had driven to the SPCA that day with the intention to adopt another dog I had seen on the website; however, the minute I saw Betsy, I fell in love. It was just that simple and fast! I never had second thoughts about adopting her at eight years old and it has remained one of the best decisions I have ever made! She has been, and continues to be, the light of my life. I renamed her Sophie and she immediately integrated into our family. She lives for car rides, treats, belly rubs, sleeping on one of us, new toys and chasing lizards she never catches. Sophie is a once in a lifetime dog who has transformed our lives for the better! We are grateful to the SPCA for the care they gave her while she was waiting for her forever home.
