Pet's Story or Bio
Hana is 2.8 years old and was welcomed into our family 11 months ago. Hana is the perfect family dog! Don’t let her shy and timid personality fool you, as you will later find her running zoomies in the backyard and coming at you with her play bows.

A lover to all dogs and cats, she has a brother named Smokey the cat who was adopted from the Monterey County SPCA.

When Hana isn’t home basking in the sun, she is out walking the neighborhood or hiking Creekside. On her spare time, she likes to do scent work and boy does she have a nose!

Hana’s claim to fame as told by her previous co-owner was she won best puppy at NIPPO in Japan prior to coming to the states. Roughly translated, “NIPPO” is the Japanese Dog Preservation Society with one mission: To preserve and maintain the registries of the native Japanese dog breeds. Hana’s previous co-owner, is active in dog showing and recently won Westminster Best of Breed, therefore Hana comes to us with the best demeanor and qualities of a perfect Shiba. Hana, being a family dog and not a show dog, she is still sure to turn heads and spark up conversations wherever she goes. She loves the attention and enjoys the endless pets, rubs and treats.

As mentioned earlier, Hana loves to bask in the sun; she can be seen laying out in the front window and has many human friends who look for her and say hi when they spot her. If you see Hana out and about, feel free to say hi, in exchange for some kisses!
