Hercules came to the SPCA at 6 months old and was in such bad shape that he nearly died. He was emaciated and suffering from multiple illnesses including severe anemia, extremely elevated white cell count, horrible skin infection, and hypothermia. And like the mythical Greek demigod, he fought his own 12 labors. Over the next several months he endured daily therapy, syringe feedings, blood transfusions, and multiple tests to determine why he was so ill. After months of testing, he was diagnosed 6 months later with a condition that effects his ability to digest food. With the hard work and love of his veterinarians, they determined how to manage his condition so he can live a happy and very active life. Through all his trials and tribulations he has always remained a happy pup who loves to give kisses and really loves his veterinarians! And although he has flare-ups of his condition, Hercules is a very spunky, friendly dog with the best smile! He loves watching Game of Thrones and posing for the camera! He is our miracle pup!
