Rosie was the runt of the litter among her 8 week old brothers and sisters who had been abandoned to the care of Dog & Kitty City, a “no-kill” shelter in Dallas Texas. Early one morning she and her siblings were crated and left at the door of the shelter, hungry and missing the warmth of their mother.

At home, our 18 year old Jack Russell named Sam was in failing health and we knew we only had a few more precious months with him. It was almost more than we and our other 3 year old rescue Nick could bear.

Rosie blessed our lives at a time when we needed her as much as she needed a forever home. Rosie’s sweetness and playful nature lifted all of our spirits. If she wasn’t snuggling with Sam she was playing with us or Nick giving us all great joy and comfort.

Rosie was loved as new member of the family and quickly became Nick’s new best friend as well as ours. That was seven years ago and we remain one big happy family!
