Sweet Costa was adopted from SPCA Stacy RD in 2017. In January of this year she was diagnosed with acute glaucoma which took her eyesight within 2 weeks. We can only assume it was from the conditions she was raised in from a hoarding situation. I was inconsolable but found an amazing blind dog support group through Facebook. Her diagnosis typically results in having both eyes removed within the year. We have decided to start with a procedure that involves injections into the eyes and we are two weeks out and she is doing wonderfully. She is the sweetest soul on this earth and has adapted extremely well. She bumps her sweet noggin on something at least 10 times a day but loves getting out for a walk and to the park where she knows she can run again without fear of smashing her head into anything (she is the fastest dog in the world and in the beginning of losing her sight took off running and slammed her head into a brick column in the back yard). I am forever grateful to have this perfect soul by my side. ❤️🥰
