Officer Sammy Whiskers #C3PO has been assigned to the Dallas Police Department’s Property Unit since he began his career on December 6, 2018. Since that time, he has continuously excelled in his job performance.

Officer Whiskers is responsible for controlling a gang of rats who were terrorizing the employees and chewing on boxes. He takes his responsibilities seriously and chased the enemy above the ceiling tiles and throughout the warehouse. He has been enthusiastic in his mission and continues to distinguish himself as an exceptional team player and role model for his peers.

In addition to his primary duty of rat patrol, Officer Whiskers is involved in Community Service. He has done a television spot with Clarice Tinsley to encourage animal adoption. He has also brought honor to the department by appearing in DBrief, the City’s newsletter, DBRIEF June 2021 Issue and he is the first cat to have appeared in Police1, a national magazine.

Currently, Officer Whiskers spends much of his time working Peer Support. He has demonstrated excellent customer service skills to both citizens and police personnel alike. He is caring and committed and works hard to care for his Unit. It is for these reasons, that I proudly nominate Officer Sammy Whiskers #C3PO.
