My mom adopted Petey from a rescue group when he was three years old. Petey became Mom’s loving, loyal, constant companion for the next eight years, throughout all of her health challenges, even moving with her to assisted living! Petey stayed by Mom’s side, literally, until her last breath. All of Mom’s incredible caregivers loved Petey but there was one who had formed a very special bond with him, which I witnessed. Petey loved her, and her daughter, too, so when asked if they could adopt him, it was an answer to my prayers because it was the ideal fit for Petey. Petey’s transition to his new home and family went purrfectly smoothly and he is living happily ever after!
