Blue Salinas came from the SPCA in McKinney Texas. Blue was said to be aggressive with other horses and shy toward people. Blue came to the facility under fed and the less likely to succeed in comparison to the other barn mates she shared with. Staff at the facility said Blue was a special horse that needed someone to take time with her. Staff also said she had been brought back multiple times, due to her, not being compatible with several other peoples Barn . When I was asked what blue would be used for or asked to do I replied “ in her time she will asked me for things based on the comfortability and how she has been treated”. After 5 years of being with Blue she follows me everywhere , Winnie’s when I can close to her and has allowed my 5 year old son to ride her safely. I believe this is her way of thanking us for saving her. Blue has been an honor to be around and she has taught me so much. Blue has taught me patience, love and a deep compassion for horses that I have never had prior to Blue. I am a police officer in the Great state of Texas and I can say blue has also helped w mental health. She is not just my horse but a piece of my family. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
