Pet's Personal Statement
THANK YOU all so much for welcoming me to the Blessing of the Pets! I like to see all my friends get blessed, too! I often attend the Wednesday noon service with my Dee. I sit at the end of a pew that is well out of the way, so no one will trip over me or step on me. I am very quiet so that some of my friends there give me treats afterwards. I have never seen a person I didn’t love, and I am especially charmed by children – I have a little dance I often do for them. They think I am clapping my front paws when I do it, but the secret is that that is the way I can balance on my back paws.

I believe in equal opportunities for pets! At home I have two cats named Polly and Wally. I am very kind to them, and they trust me to be their leader and defender if we are invaded by wild turkeys.

I have another secret, too – my name is really Samson! What was Dee thinking? Everyone who learns that wants to give me a haircut! I have never pulled down any buildings or walls, and the one thing I don’t like to do is get a haircut!

A couple of years ago, I was the ombudsman at a nursing home. Dee always tagged along, but I was the one who made the folks happy! I walked down the halls and greeted everyone in their rooms.
