Nelson was rescued by S.A.F.E. and then became our first attempt to foster. When he came home with us, he weighed half of current weight, was heartworm positive, had much less hair than he has now, and had multiple skin and allergy issues. Needless to say, he won our hearts and is now officially part of the family. He is still trying to grow all his hair back, but he is happy to say that he is now heartworm negative and loves to play with his brother Harley and sister Stella. Named after Willie Nelson, Nelson may be an old dog but he has definitely learned some new tricks. And he has settled into his family exceptionally well after years of roughing it.
