Maritza and her brother were kittens fending for themselves on the city streets in freezing temps and feet of snow, when a Good Samaritan noticed them and called a rescue, who placed her with a local shelter.
Since she was extremely timid, and hid behind her litter box whenever visitors were present, she remained at the shelter for one-year.
But one very brave day, she jumped up on top of a cage and allowed my two sons to pet her. It was love at first sight for all.
Her favorite activities are watching birds & squirrels, playing with toy mice, being brushed, receiving special treats of turkey, ham, & lickables, and ruling her queendom.
